Your friend went straight to work after high school and skipped university. But now ten years later, he decides to go to university. Please talk about at least one challenge he will face when he goes to university at an elder age.
One of the challenges that I would warn my friend about is finding difficulty fitting in. Majority of his or her classmates will be way younger and it’ll be difficult to make friends in class. You know, people to hang out and study with.
Besides making friends, it would also be extremely hard to work on group projects with people that aren’t your peers. Other than fitting in, I’m sure it’ll be hard to balance work, life and family if my friend goes back to college. By this time, the individual is probably married, might have a family or even a career, and juggling all these things wouldn’t be easy for anyone.
To become accepted by a group.
e.g. I just don't fit in with any of the kids at my new school.
to spend time aimlessly 闲逛.
e.g. We can just hang out and have a good time.
Your peers are the people who are the same age as you or who have the same status as you.
e.g. These children are much cleverer than their peers.
