Which way would you like to change to improve your health: the kind of food you eat, or the amount of exercise, the amount of stress.
As the material life of modern society reaches an 猜词互动 level, people start to divert their attention from how to live affluently to how to live healthily. Some lament that the food we eat today are contaminated by chemicals or poisoned by additives; some complain that the pressure of being a modern people is way too heavy. However, my vintage point is that the culprit of undesirable health condition is the lack of exercise, and by adjusting the amount of physical training, most individuals, and me in particular, would combat most of the health problems.
To begin with, working in an office consumes most of my time awake, and that could be one explanation, or excuse, for the absence of sport in my life. But this has to change. First, working out regularly could bring explicit physical enhancement, such as stronger muscles, better cardiovascular functions, and weight drop. On top of these apparent advantages, the most significant benefit brought by exercise is the boost of immune system, which is the most effective weapon against contagious diseases, such as cold, and some inflammatory syndrome caused by disorders of immune system, such as allergic reactions. Third, when people are engaged in physical activities, they are secreting a magical chemical named dopamine---the very catalyst for the sense of happiness, the most effective rivals of dismay caused by stress. As pressure is relieved in this process, people are less likely to suffer from neurological related problems, such as insomnia. Most importantly, according to Doctor Guo, attending physician in digestion at Second Affiliated Hospital to Tianjin Medical School, being physically actively is one of the most efficacious way to stimulate the movement of stomach and bowels, the two essential organs in the process of digestion. So if an individual worries that too much intake of sugar and fat will lead to obesity or high blood pressure, then doing exercise is the very remedy to this problem. Based on these three reasons, changing the amount of exercise seems to be definitively the wisest way to improve health.
The other two options seem to bear some innate flaws when it comes to improve one’s health condition. First, if one wishes to maintain healthy, then he must have a balanced diet, which means, he has to take in all kinds of food so as to attain various nutrition necessary to function well. It is understandable that some may argue for the idea of being a vegetarian, but from my point of view, this is one way of showing respect to other creatures of the Nature, but not the ideal way of stay healthy. As carnivorous animals, homo sapiens could not avoid eating meat to attain the optimal physical condition. So, altering the kind food is never the answer to a healthy body, it is amount of each kind of food taken in that matters. Concerning the amount of stress, well, it is never controlled in the hands of individuals. If students wish to be admitted to top universities, then he has to have perfect GPA and attend student activites; if an employee wishes to be promoted, then he has to work extremely hard; even if one has no secular want, he has to look after the elder and take care of children. All these mentioned above could be interpreted as stress, but no one could ever get rid of these stresses. So the very solution to stress is not to change the amount of it, but to change the attitude towards stress: we need to be calm and at ease when faced with various difficulties.
In a nutshell, compared with adjusting the kind of food and the amount of pressure, increasing the amount of exercise is the most effect way to maintain healthy.
