20171015托福考试口语Task 1题目

Some people think that those children who do not want to keep learning a musical instrument course should be required to keep learning the course; While others think that those children should be allowed to make decisions by themselves(they can still do exercises by themselves). What is your opinion and why? Use examples and details in your explanation.

I definitely think that if a child doesn’t want to continue taking a class in a musical instrument they should be allowed to quit. The first reason is, not everyone has musical talents. Some kids are gifted in other areas, such as sports or art and these are also great qualities that should be nurtured at a young age. In addition, forcing a child to take up a musical instrument could be frustrating and this could lead to other problems such asrebellious behavior and resentment. Instead ofinstilling discipline , this could have adverse effects on a child’s manners. So I think children should not be forced to continue playing a musical instrument if they are against it.
